A Snowy Farewell

All this snow has been ridiculous! As a Southerner, I'm definitely not used to this. However, if I'm going to be snowed in, it can't be better timing than when I have a book deadline to meet.

And I did!

This weekend I finished up Catching Moondrops, and as great as it feels to have it taken care of, I have to say it's really sad to say goodbye to these characters. It's crazy how attached you can get to people who don't even exist! But they've been with me for years now, and it seems strange to think I won't be writing about their lives anymore. It's been quite an experience taking Jessilyn from just-turned-teenager to full grown young woman, and I truly hope all of you will enjoy the final chapters of her journey.

So what's next? I honestly don't know! I've got some ideas, but we'll see what plays out. For now, keep an eye out for Catching Moondrops. It should be popping up in stores by September!

Celebrate AND mourn! Let yourself be whereever you are. Know there is more adventure ahead, sister! I miss you! (Maybe a trip to RI?)

Congrats, my friend! And I completely feel your pain about "saying goodbye" to your characters. But then again... you could always write about their children like our friend Jan Watson. :)

Thanks, Lori. Miss you, too! Because of you RI is on my "places to visit" list!

I know you're right there with me, CJ! Maybe Jan has a good idea there... :)

I can't imagine how hard that's got to be to move on to new characters. I'm going to have to pace myself when reading Catching Moondrops so that I can relish the experience!

I'm reading Fireflies right now and have Cottonwood Whispers in my Books-a-million cart. :) I wasn't sure if Moondrops was supposed to be a third installment, but glad to hear that it is. I love Fireflies so far. My cousin laughed at me because I was reading it the other day waiting for her to get off work and I was just sitting on a bench giggling away at the story. As Luke said, Jessilyn beats all. :) Thanks for such a wonderful read!

Tabitha, I'm slightly in mourning, but I'll get over it... someday. :)

Lauren, I'm so glad you're enjoying the book, and particularly glad that you're enjoying the humor. Everybody needs a good laugh!

Thanks, Mandy! Hope you love every page!

I miss the characters when I finish reading a book. I can imagine that writing the books would make the "missing" much more intense. I have loved your books and can't wait for Catching Moondrops. Like Jessilyn, I too am in love with Luke. =)
Thank you!

By the way, Fireflies in December is the latest selection for our little book club here in St. Johns, AZ. We will be discussing it this Thursday.
